During Milan Design Week 2025, Cavanna Group received a special mention in the WT AltaQuota Awards, an international prize dedicated to innovation in high-altitude architecture.
The event, which took place from 8 to 13 April in the prestigious setting of Palazzo Moriggia – home of Milan’s Museo del Risorgimento – involved Cavanna not only as an exhibiting company, but also as a technical partner supporting the entire initiative.
During the official ceremony on Wednesday 9 April, the jury recognised the value of our prototype of the refuge of the future: an unprecedented concept-work, designed and built to cope with the extreme conditions of Alpine areas, combining structural lightness, high thermal-insulating performance and maximum energy and living efficiency.
The project fits perfectly into the vision promoted by the WT AltaQuota Award, which encourages the replacement of obsolete shelters with new generation structures: intelligent, sustainable and capable of integrating harmoniously with the mountain landscape.
The concept-opera exhibited in Milan does not stop here: it will also be the protagonist of the next edition of Courmayeur Design Week 2025, bringing to high altitude a concrete vision of sustainable architecture, innovative and deeply connected to nature.
